This is a light and fresh, high quality green tea from China perfect for everyday use.
The word Sencha translates to mean steamed, which is how the leaves are traditionally processed to create an unoxidised tea. However, Chinese green teas are usually pan fired 1st giving a mellower flavour than their grassier, slightly more bitter Japanese counterparts. They are then rolled, shaped and dried into long thin ribbons.

HOW TO BREW
For the perfect cuppa
Steep 1-2 heaped teaspoons per cup in freshly boiled 80℃ water, brew for 3-4 minutes.
Many people dislike the taste of green tea complaining that its bitter, but this is most often due to over brewing or using boiling water. The leaves of green teas are very delicate and are easliy burnt so take care to use the correct temperature of water and not to leave the leaves in for too long.
Top tip: For 80℃ water without a fancy kettle, either add 1/3 cold water into your cup 1st and top up with 2/3 boiling water, or leave the lid off the kettle for 5 minutes.
One of the great things about green teas is that they can be re steeped several times, this sencha can be used up to 4 times, just leave it in 1 mintue longer with each use.
Can also be enjoyed as iced tea
Steep 4 heaped teaspoons in 900ml of freshly boiled 80℃ water, brew for 3-4 minutes and leave in the fridge to cool. Serve over ice with fresh lemon.
